It consists of three branches, the army, the air force and the navy. The motto of the Lebanese Armed Forces is "Honor, Sacrifice, Loyalty" (Arabic: "شرف · تضحية · وفاء" - Sharaf.Tadhia.Wafa'). Famous quotes containing the words armed and/or forces:

Inflation is as violent as a mugger, as frightening as an armed robber and as deadly as a hit man.
    Ronald Reagan (b. 1911)

The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail—its roof may shake—the wind may blow through it—the storm may enter—the rain may enter—but the King of England cannot enter!—all his forces dare not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement!
William Pitt, The Elder, Lord Chatham (1708–1778)
