Laws of Maryland

The Laws of Maryland comprise the session laws have been enacted by the Maryland General Assembly each year. According to the Boston College Law library, session laws are "useful in determining which laws were in force at a particular time." Unlike the Annotated Code of Maryland, the Laws of Maryland are arranged chronologically, rather than by subject. They are the state-level counterpart to the United States Statutes at Large.

Famous quotes containing the words laws of and/or laws:

    The laws of God, the laws of man,
    He may keep that will and can;
    Not I: let God and man decree
    Laws for themselves and not for me;
    —A.E. (Alfred Edward)

    At present the globe goes with a shattered constitution in its orbit.... No doubt the simple powers of nature, properly directed by man, would make it healthy and a paradise; as the laws of man’s own constitution but wait to be obeyed, to restore him to health and happiness.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
