Lauren Mc Avoy - Britain's Next Top Model

McAvoy appeared in Cycle 3 of Britain's Next Top Model. She started out as a weaker contestant, but as the competition progressed she started showing more and more versatility and became one of the front runners, despite appearing in the bottom two three times. She was chosen over the competition favourite Rebecca White to go into the final two. In the final judging, she was chosen over White and runner-up Louise Watts due to her overall performance on the runway, the photo shoots throughout the competition and her overall attitude towards the business. The main judge on the show, Lisa Snowdon, said: "Lauren epitomises a worthy winner...She's got a real sparkle about her, and that's proved to be her driving force." Lauren never received a first call-out on the show until winning over Louise in the top 2; she is the first Top Model winner to never achieve that recognition.

Famous quotes containing the words britain, top and/or model:

    I’ th’ world’s volume
    Our Britain seems as of it, but not in’ t;
    In a great pool a swan’s nest.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

    More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
    And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
    “Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
    On, Comet! on, Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!
    To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
    Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!”
    Clement Clarke Moore (1779–1863)

    I had a wonderful job. I worked for a big model agency in Manhattan.... When I got on the subway to go to work, it was like traveling into another world. Oh, the shops were beautiful, we had Bergdorf’s, Bendel’s, Bonwit’s, DePinna. The women wore hats and gloves. Another world. At home, it was cooking, cleaning, taking care of the kids, going to PTA, Girl Scouts. But when I got into the office, everything was different, I was different.
    Estelle Shuster (b. c. 1923)
