Launch Control (automotive) - Side Effect

Side Effect

Launch control can help user to have a greater speed when it starts to move. However, what usually happens is slipping. Slipping will lead to a time delay which static friction of driving wheel is zero and car is at a standstill. Also, because of starting at a high revolving speed of wheel gear, damage of wheel gear is huge. As the driving wheel is slipping, damage of driving wheel is unavoidable which μ of driving wheel will be changed to a smaller number. When launch control starts, the instant force is powerful that driver can hardly hold steering wheel which is dangerous. Some countries and areas rank launch control to dangerous driving.

Famous quotes containing the words side and/or effect:

Playing alone, I found the wall.
One side was gray, the other an indelible gray.
The two sides were separated by a third,
Or spirit wall, a coarser gray.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)

The second [of Zeno’s arguments about motion] is the one called “Achilles.” This is to the effect that the slowest as it runs will never be caught by the quickest. For the pursuer must first reach the point from which the pursued departed, so that the slower must always be some distance in front.
    Zeno Of Elea (c. 490–430 B.C.)
