Machine Learning
Human beings/animals learn new skills, languages/concepts. Similarly, machine learning algorithms provide capability to generalize from training data. There are two classes of Machine Learning (ML):
- Supervised ML
- Unsupervised ML
One of the well known machine learning technique is Back Propagation Algorithm. This mimics how humans learn from examples. The training patters are repeatedly presented to the network. The error is back propagated and the network weights are adjusted using gradient decent. The network converges through several hundreds of iterative computations

Famous quotes containing the words machine and/or learning:
“All day long the machine waits: rooms,
stairs, carpets, furniture, people
those people who stand at the open windows like objects
waiting to topple.”
—Anne Sexton (19281974)
“This great purple butterfly,
In the prison of my hands,
Has a learning in his eye
Not a poor fool understands.
Once he lived a schoolmaster
With a stark, denying look....”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
