Late November 2006 Nor'easter

The Late November 2006 Nor'easter was an extratropical cyclone (nor'easter) that formed offshore the Southeast United States on November 20, bringing heavy rains, high winds, beach erosion, and coastal flooding to the Carolinas and southern New England. In addition, the earliest snowfall ever noted in both Charleston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia occurred on the southwest side of this cyclone. Over 10,000 were without power during the storm. No longer a Nor'Easter, the cyclone accelerated rapidly across the North Atlantic while strengthening, becoming a storm again by November 25, but this time with hurricane-force sustained winds. The low made a cyclonic loop west of Iceland, becoming absorbed by a strengthening gale west of Great Britain late on December 1.

Famous quotes containing the words late and/or november:

All my life I believed I knew something. But then one strange day came when I realized that I knew nothing, yes, I knew nothing. And so words became void of meaning ... I have arrived too late at ultimate uncertainty.
    Ezra Pound (1885–1972)

If God had an agent, the world wouldn’t be built yet. It’d only be about Thursday.
Jerry Reynolds, Sacramento Kings’ player personnel director. Quoted in Newsweek (New York, November 25, 1991)
