The Cossacks were primarily a passing team and established 10 new school records, including most yards gained, most touchdown passes, best gain-per-completion and highest passing efficiency. During his senior season, Sonoma State set a mark with 334 rushing yards against Cal-State Hayward. Allen also participated in the East-West Shrine Game, Senior Bowl and was a two-time All-America selection. Also, he was the first player from Sonoma State University to be drafted in the NFL.

Famous quotes containing the words college and/or career:
“Solitude is not measured by the miles of space that intervene between a man and his fellows. The really diligent student in one of the crowded hives of Cambridge College is as solitary as a dervis in the desert.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Never hug and kiss your children! Mother love may make your childrens infancy unhappy and prevent them from pursuing a career or getting married! Thats total hogwash, of course. But it shows on extreme example of what state-of-the-art scientific parenting was supposed to be in early twentieth-century America. After all, that was the heyday of efficiency experts, time-and-motion studies, and the like.”
—Lawrence Kutner (20th century)
