Teaching Staff

Larne Grammar School has 60 teachers and 772 pupils, giving the school a pupil teacher ratio of 12.7 pupils per teacher, which is much lower than the Northern Ireland average of 15.6 for Grammar Schools, and 16.8 for all schools delivering secondary education.

Larne Grammar School's teaching staff are known for their excellence in delivering the curriculum to students in an excellent and efficient way, which is the primary reason for high examination results and excellence in academic achievement. Teaching posts at the school are some of the most sought after in Northern Ireland due to the efficiency of how the school is operated, and due to the high pupil intelligence rate.

Famous quotes containing the words teaching and/or staff:

Mrs. Zajac knows you didn’t try. You don’t just hand in junk to Mrs. Zajac. She’s been teaching an awful lot of years. She didn’t fall off the turnip cart yesterday. She told you she was an old-lady teacher.
Christine Zajac, U.S. fifth-grade teacher. As quoted in Among Schoolchildren, “September” section, part 1, by Tracy Kidder (1989)

I shall not want false witness to condemn me,
Nor store of treasons to augment my guilt.
The ancient proverb will be well effected:
“A staff is quickly found to beat a dog.”
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
