Falcon Street Gateway
The "Falcon Street Gateway" is a set of two north facing ramps on the Warringah Freeway providing access to and from Military Road. The toll costs $1.32 for passenger vehicles and $2.62 for heavy vehicles (southbound and northbound). Connector Motorways promotes that by using the new ramps, up to 19 sets of traffic lights can be avoided on the Pacific Highway. What they don't mention however is that traffic can still use the Warringah Freeway and take the North Sydney off-ramp, about 500m further on and not pay any toll for about a 1 minute extra journey. The Falcon Street Gateway is part of the larger project, including widening of the Gore Hill Freeway to improve traffic and provide greater connectivity to the lower North Shore, so the tolls collected at the Falcon Street Gateway fund also the expansion of the Gore Hill Freeway.

Famous quotes containing the words falcon, street and/or gateway:
“Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
“And men left down their work and came,
And women with petticoats coloured like flame.
And little bare feet that were blue with cold,
Went dancing back to the age of gold,
And all the world went gay, went gay,
For half an hour in the street to-day.”
—Seumas OSullivan (18791958)
“The whole fauna of human fantasies, their marine vegetation, drifts and luxuriates in the dimly lit zones of human activity, as though plaiting thick tresses of darkness. Here, too, appear the lighthouses of the mind, with their outward resemblance to less pure symbols. The gateway to mystery swings open at the touch of human weakness and we have entered the realms of darkness. One false step, one slurred syllable together reveal a mans thoughts.”
—Louis Aragon (18971982)
