Lampasas Independent School District

Lampasas Independent School District is a public school district based in Lampasas, Texas (USA) that serves about 3,350 students.

In addition to Lampasas, the district also serves the city of Kempner and part of the Bend community. Located mostly in Lampasas County, portions of the district extend into Burnet, Bell, and Coryell counties.

The school district's mascot is the badger.

In 2010, the school district was rated "academically unacceptable" by the Texas Education Agency due to Lampasas Middle School's rating of "academically unacceptable". This rating was due to a coding error and an appeal was filed, but denied. Taylor Creek Elementary was rated "exemplary". Lampasas High School and Hannah Springs Elementary were rated as "recognized". Kline Whitis Elemertary was rated "academically acceptable".

Famous quotes containing the words independent, school and/or district:

The ex-Presidential situation has its advantages, but with them are certain drawbacks. The correspondence is large. The meritorious demands on one are large. More independent out than in place, but still something of the bondage of the place that was willingly left. On the whole, however, I find many reasons to be content.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

... the school should be an appendage of the family state, and modeled on its primary principle, which is, to train the ignorant and weak by self-sacrificing labor and love; and to bestow the most on the weakest, the most undeveloped, and the most sinful.
    Catherine E. Beecher (1800–1878)

Most works of art, like most wines, ought to be consumed in the district of their fabrication.
    Rebecca West (1892–1983)
