Lamont–Doherty Earth Observatory
The Lamont–Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) is a research unit of Columbia University located on a 157-acre (0.64 km2) campus in Palisades, N.Y., 18 miles (29 km) north of Manhattan on the Hudson River.
