New Building
As a result of a bond issue on the 2004 ballot, Lakewood has received over 35 million USD to construct a new school building. Construction began in January 2006, and continued until the summer of 2007. The new building had its official opening over the summer of 2007, with students sometimes assisting teachers' move into the new building post term-end. The new building was open for use by the student body and faculty starting at the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year. The new building features a large atrium.
