Traffic Congestion
Since the opening of retail stores in Lakewood Crossing, traffic has dramatically skyrocketed around the area. Currently, there is only one main access point for Lakewood Crossing, which is 27th Ave NE and SR 531. WSDOT has no plans to improve this section of road, which WSDOT deemed sufficient to support future traffic for Lakewood Crossing when WSDOT approved road plans for the area before construction. There are plans by the city of Marysville to construct new overpasses and freeway ramps to the south of Lakewood Crossing to provide new access points and to support new development in the area. As of January 2009, no improvements have been made.
