Demographics

Lakeside serves students from the entire DeKalb County School System. The student body is composed of pretty diverse cultures. In 1985, Lakeside was honoured as a State and National School of Excellence; an honour which reflects the positive relationship between the school and community. In 1996, Lakeside nearly doubled its enrollment from 989 to 1,679 due to a merger with Henderson and Shamrock High schools, both of which are currently middle schools. The Fall enrollment of 2004 was 1449 with 269 seniors. The Fall enrollment for 2005 was 1501, with 321 seniors. The Fall enrollment for the 2007-2008 school year was 1612, with 321 seniors. This diverse population is both constructive and enriching for our students.
