Lake Bluff Middle School

Lake Bluff Middle School is located in east Lake Bluff, Illinois and is a part of school district 65. It was established in 1955. The school is divided into the sixth grade, seventh grade, and eighth grade. The Middle School feeds into Lake Forest High School, as Lake Bluff does not have a high school of its own. The rival school of LBMS. is Deer Path Middle School in neighboring Lake Forest, Illinois. The mascot of the school is the bobcat, and the school newspaper is entitled "Paw Print." There is a school magazine called Inkblots published every May. At the end of each school year, students receive a yearbook, and there is an annual school musical as well. It is part of Lake County School District 65. The principal of the school is Nathan Blackmer.

Famous quotes containing the words lake, bluff, middle and/or school:

    Turn back,
    back
    to the lake of Delos;
    lest all the song notes
    pause and break
    across a blood-stained throat....
    Hilda Doolittle (1886–1961)

    When people are taken out of their depths they lose their heads, no matter how charming a bluff they may put up.
    F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896–1940)

    The middle years of parenthood are characterized by ambiguity. Our kids are no longer helpless, but neither are they independent. We are still active parents but we have more time now to concentrate on our personal needs. Our children’s world has expanded. It is not enclosed within a kind of magic dotted line drawn by us. Although we are still the most important adults in their lives, we are no longer the only significant adults.
    —Ruth Davidson Bell. Ourselves and Our Children, by Boston Women’s Health Book Collective, ch. 3 (1978)

    A man of sense and energy, the late head of the Farm School in Boston Harbor, said to me, “I want none of your good boys,Mgive me the bad ones.” And this is the reason, I suppose, why, as soon as the children are good, the mothers are scared, and think they are going to die.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
