Lactation Consultant is a health professional who provides breastfeeding support and education. They can be found in hospitals, physician or midwife practices, and in public health programs. Lactation consultants are certified through a variety of training courses and could carry the credentials: International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Advanced Lactation Consultant (ALC) or Advanced Nurse Lactation Consultant (ANLC).
