Lacrosse Museum and National Hall of Fame - Sports Museum of America

Sports Museum of America

The Lacrosse Museum and National Hall of Fame is a Founding Sports Partner of the Sports Museum of America, joining more than 50 other single-sport Halls of Fame, National Governing Bodies, Museums and other organizations across North America to richly celebrate the history, grandeur and significance of sports in American culture. Set to open in New York City on May 7, 2008, the Sports Museum of America will showcase both the Lacrosse Museum and National Hall of Fame and US Lacrosse in its Hall of Halls Gallery (along with providing an annual donation) in return for sharing some of the museum's valuable lacrosse artifacts and their support of the creation of the Nation's first all-sports museum experience.

Famous quotes containing the words sports, museum and/or america:

I looked so much like a guy you couldn’t tell if I was a boy or a girl. I had no hair, I wore guys’ clothes, I walked like a guy ... [ellipsis in source] I didn’t do anything right except sports. I was a social dropout, but sports was a way I could be acceptable to other kids and to my family.
    Karen Logan (b. 1949)

A fallen tree does not rise again.
Hawaiian saying no. 2412, ‘lelo No’Eau, collected, translated, and annotated by Mary Kawena Pukui, Bishop Museum Press, Hawaii (1983)

Without comprehension, the immigrant would forever remain shut—a stranger in America. Until America can release the heart as well as train the hand of the immigrant, he would forever remain driven back upon himself, corroded by the very richness of the unused gifts within his soul.
    Anzia Yezierska (1881?–1970)
