Labello is a century-old brand of lip balm stick. It is produced by Beiersdorf AG in Germany and Austria. The labello lip care sticks are also sold under the name Labello Nivea, Liposan and Nivea Lip Care. Labello makes lip care products that are used for medical treatments, moisturizing, protection from sun or solely for cosmetic purposes.
The word "labello" comes from the Latin words "labium" ("lip") and "bellus" ("beautiful"). In German, in French and in former Yugoslav languages, the name is often used as a genericized trademark, just like ChapStick is in English.
