La Neuveville has a population (as of 31 December 2011) of 3,552. As of 2007, 16.4% of the population was made up of foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years the population has grown at a rate of 10.4%. Most of the population (as of 2000) speaks French (76.7%), with German being second most common (15.7%) and Italian being third ( 2.9%).

In the 2007 election the most popular party was the SPS which received 32.9% of the vote. The next three most popular parties were the FDP (25.4%), the SVP (16.6%) and the Green Party (15.8%).

The age distribution of the population (as of 2000) is children and teenagers (0–19 years old) make up 24% of the population, while adults (20–64 years old) make up 57.1% and seniors (over 64 years old) make up 18.9%. In La Neuveville about 71.9% of the population (between age 25-64) have completed either non-mandatory upper secondary education or additional higher education (either university or a Fachhochschule).

La Neuveville has an unemployment rate of 2.71%. As of 2005, there were 58 people employed in the primary economic sector and about 21 businesses involved in this sector. 510 people are employed in the secondary sector and there are 45 businesses in this sector. 838 people are employed in the tertiary sector, with 129 businesses in this sector.
