La Follette Family

The La Follette family is a family of politicians from the United States. Below is a list of members:

  • Robert M. La Follette, Sr. (1855–1925), District Attorney of Dane County, Wisconsin 1880-1884; U.S. Representative from Wisconsin 1885-1891; delegate to the Republican National Convention 1896, 1904; Governor of Wisconsin 1901-1906; U.S. Senator from Wisconsin 1906-1925; candidate for Republican nomination for President of the United States 1908, 1916; candidate for President of the United States 1924. Belle Case La Follette was his wife. Fola La Follette was his daughter; Fola La Follette's husband the playwright George Middleton was his son-in-law. His sister Josephine La Follette was married to Robert G. Siebecker, Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. First cousin of William La Follette.
