Career Guidance and Placement

The institute has a career guidance and placement unit (CGPU) in the college. The aim of the unit is to bring the students and the industrial community together for job placement.

The unit is headed by a placement officer supported by student representatives and the faculty. The principal of the institution is the chairman of this unit.

The unit encourages students to undergo industrial training. Personality development programs and other training programs are arranged, helping the students to perform well in competitive examinations, interviews and group discussions.

Communicative English and aptitude classes are conducted for students who are weak in communication. The students will be brought into the fold of the CGPU during their first year. Aptitude tests and group discussions are conducted to enable the students to improve their performance in competitive exams.

The placement cell has a seminar hall equipped with public address system, overhead projector, and computers. As a result of the work of the CGPU, 75% of students of each batch secure placements.

Famous quotes containing the words career and/or guidance:

It is a great many years since at the outset of my career I had to think seriously what life had to offer that was worth having. I came to the conclusion that the chief good for me was freedom to learn, think, and say what I pleased, when I pleased. I have acted on that conviction... and though strongly, and perhaps wisely, warned that I should probably come to grief, I am entirely satisfied with the results of the line of action I have adopted.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)

Even healthy families need outside sources of moral guidance to keep those tensions from imploding—and this means, among other things, a public philosophy of gender equality and concern for child welfare. When instead the larger culture aggrandizes wife beaters, degrades women or nods approvingly at child slappers, the family gets a little more dangerous for everyone, and so, inevitably, does the larger world.
    Barbara Ehrenreich (20th century)
