Famous quotes containing the words death and/or endowment:
“It is conceivable at least that a late generation, such as we presumably are, has particular need of the sketch, in order not to be strangled to death by inherited conceptions which preclude new births.... The sketch has direction, but no ending; the sketch as reflection of a view of life that is no longer conclusive, or is not yet conclusive.”
—Max Frisch (19111991)
“The parent must not give in to his desire to try to create the child he would like to have, but rather help the child to developin his own good timeto the fullest, into what he wishes to be and can be, in line with his natural endowment and as the consequence of his unique life in history.”
—Bruno Bettelheim (20th century)
