KSNT - News Operation

News Operation

Currently, KSNT broadcasts a total of 18½ hours of local newscasts each week (with 3½ hours on weekdays and one hour each on Saturdays and Sundays).

On July 30, 2011, KSNT and KTMJ-CA combined its news operations with KTKA-TV, under the banner name of Kansas First News; the newscasts are based out of the KSNT studios. The arrangement is similar to other virtual triopoly joint news operations such as Raycom Media/MCG Capital's Hawaii News Now in Honolulu, Hawaii and Granite/Malara's Indiana's NewsCenter in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Northland's NewsCenter in Duluth, Minnesota. On Monday, October 8, Kansas First News switched to HD, becoming the second, and last news service in the Topeka area to switch to HD.

Famous quotes containing the words news and/or operation:

The greatest felony in the news business today is to be behind, or to miss a big story. So speed and quantity substitute for thoroughness and quality, for accuracy and context. The pressure to compete, the fear somebody else will make the splash first, creates a frenzied environment in which a blizzard of information is presented and serious questions may not be raised.
    Carl Bernstein (b. 1944)

An absolute can only be given in an intuition, while all the rest has to do with analysis. We call intuition here the sympathy by which one is transported into the interior of an object in order to coincide with what there is unique and consequently inexpressible in it. Analysis, on the contrary, is the operation which reduces the object to elements already known.
    Henri Bergson (1859–1941)
