Kristiansand Cathedral School

Kristiansand katedralskole (the Cathedral School of Kristiansand), known in Latin as Schola Christiansandensis, is a high school in Kristiansand, Vest-Agder, Norway. It is the oldest high school on the southern coast of Norway, having been founded in 1686. Originally, the school was located near the cathedral in the center of the town of Kristiansand. Although it represents an old institution, Katta is a modern school, offering courses in general and business studies, as well as in health and care. It has an exclusive collection of paintings donated by former student Reidar Wennesland, and some antique books.

Famous quotes containing the words cathedral and/or school:

There’s a certain Slant of light,
    Winter Afternoons—
    That oppresses, like the Heft
    Of Cathedral Tunes—
    Emily Dickinson (1830–1886)

I’m tired of playing worn-out depressing ladies in frayed bathrobes. I’m going to get a new hairdo and look terrific and go back to school and even if nobody notices, I’m going to be the most self-fulfilled lady on the block.
    Joanne Woodward (b. 1930)
