The Korea Development Institute is an autonomous economic policy think tank that was set up by the South Korean government. The Institute was founded in 1971, during a period of fast economic growth, to provide research and analysis of economic policy decisions. One of its goals is to produce economic forecasts for government officials, private corporations, and the general public.
Famous quotes containing the words development and/or institute:
“The proper aim of education is to promote significant learning. Significant learning entails development. Development means successively asking broader and deeper questions of the relationship between oneself and the world. This is as true for first graders as graduate students, for fledging artists as graying accountants.”
—Laurent A. Daloz (20th century)
“Whenever any form of government shall become destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, & to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles & organising its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety & happiness.”
—Thomas Jefferson (17431826)
