An official Census 2011 detail of Koraput, a district of Orissa has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Orissa. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Koraput District of Orissa.
In 2011, Koraput had population of 1,376,934 of which male and female were 677,864 and 699,070 respectively. There was change of 16.63 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Koraput District recorded increase of 14.67 percent to its population compared to 1991.
The initial provisional data suggest a density of 156 in 2011 compared to 134 of 2001. Total area under Koraput district is of about 8,807 km2.
Average literacy rate of Koraput in 2011 were 49.87 compared to 35.72 of 2001. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy were 61.29 and 38.92 respectively. For 2001 census, same figures stood at 47.20 and 24.26 in Koraput District. Total literate in Koraput District were 579,203 of which male and female were 348,447 and 230,756 respectively. In 2001, Koraput District had 350,044 in its total region.
