Kolkata Railway Station - Criticism

Criticism

As a newer railway station, this station is not well served by public transport. Only two or three of the West Bengal Surface Transport Corporation's bus routes serve the station directly. Other buses and trams run through Radha Gobinda Kar Road, which is 1 km away from the station. The nearest metro station is 2 km away.

There is a plan to transfer the long distance bus terminus of Shyambazar from the other side of the canal to the front of the station, but nothing has yet materialized. However, there is a bus service from Kolkata station up to Sonarpur station which plies via Shyambazar, Ultadanga, Em-bye pass, Ajoynagar and Garia up to Sonarpur. Travel takes 1hr30mins from Sonarpur station to Kolkata station. One can also take an auto-rickshaw from Ultadanga to Kolkata station.

Famous quotes containing the word criticism:

... criticism ... makes very little dent upon me, unless I think there is some real justification and something should be done.
    Eleanor Roosevelt (1884–1962)

It is ... pathetic to observe the complete lack of imagination on the part of certain employers and men and women of the upper-income levels, equally devoid of experience, equally glib with their criticism ... directed against workers, labor leaders, and other villains and personal devils who are the objects of their dart-throwing. Who doesn’t know the wealthy woman who fulminates against the “idle” workers who just won’t get out and hunt jobs?
    Mary Barnett Gilson (1877–?)

I hold with the old-fashioned criticism that Browning is not really a poet, that he has all the gifts but the one needful and the pearls without the string; rather one should say raw nuggets and rough diamonds.
    Gerard Manley Hopkins (1844–1889)
