In January 2012, Kodi Burns joined Gus Malzahn's staff at Arkansas State as an offensive graduate assistant.
Gus Malzahn was hired to be the Auburn head coach after Auburn went 3-9 (0-8), the worst in Auburn history. He will return to his Alma Mater with Malzahn to help him coach.
