KOCB - Programming

Programming

In addition to CW network and syndicated offerings, the station carries the minimum amount of educational and informational children's programming, as The CW's Saturday morning children's program block Vortexx includes an hour of E/I shows; KOCB airs a half-hour of E/I programming from syndication distributors each weekday morning: DragonflyTV on Mondays, Dog Tales on Tuesdays, Animal Exploration with Jarod Miller on Wednesdays, Elizabeth Stanton's Great Big World on Thursdays and Made in Hollywood: Teen Edition on Fridays.

Movies are usually aired on Saturday and Sunday evenings between 7 and 9 p.m., as The CW does not run network programming on those nights (occasional primetime sports telecasts on weeknights may prompt the station to reschedule shows on The CW's primetime schedule to air weekend evenings). From November 2005 until the transition to computerized drawings in July 2009, KOCB shared broadcast rights to nightly drawings from the Oklahoma Lottery with KOKH, airing in simulcast on the station with the latter. Powerball drawings continue to be shown on both stations on Wednesday and Saturday evenings; though neither station runs the Mega Millions lottery drawings, even though Oklahoma participates in the multi-state lottery (Mega Millions can be seen on area cable and satellite providers through WGN America).

Famous quotes containing the word programming:

If there is a price to pay for the privilege of spending the early years of child rearing in the driver’s seat, it is our reluctance, our inability, to tolerate being demoted to the backseat. Spurred by our success in programming our children during the preschool years, we may find it difficult to forgo in later states the level of control that once afforded us so much satisfaction.
    Melinda M. Marshall (20th century)
