Klotsche Center

The Klotsche Center (formally the J. Martin Klotsche Center) is a 3,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the campus of the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. Opened in 1977, the arena was named after UWM's first Chancellor, J. Martin Klotsche. It is home to the Milwaukee Panthers women's basketball team, and formerly hosted the men's team until the men moved into U.S. Cellular Arena.

In June 2012, UWM announced that it would be moving its men's basketball games from U.S. Cellular Arena back to the Klotsche Center for the 2012-2013 season. To make Klotsche more suitable for Division 1 basketball, new scoreboards, video boards, and new padded courtside seats were installed.

Famous quotes containing the word center:

Whenever there’s a big war coming on, you should rope off a big field. And on the big day, you should take all the kings and their cabinets and their generals, put ‘em in the center dressed in their underpants and let them fight it out with clubs. The best country wins.
    Maxwell Anderson (1888–1959)
