Kitsap Color Classic, a Cascade Bicycle Club event, is held every October on the Kitsap Peninsula of Washington State. Bicyclists board a Washington State Ferry in Edmonds, Washington, then ride to Kingston to start cycling. Distances range from 14 miles to 64 miles.
Famous quotes containing the words color and/or classic:
“For the profit of travel: in the first place, you get rid of a few prejudices.... The prejudiced against color finds several hundred millions of people of all shades of color, and all degrees of intellect, rank, and social worth, generals, judges, priests, and kings, and learns to give up his foolish prejudice.”
—Herman Melville (18191891)
“The great British Libraryan immense collection of volumes of all ages and languages, many of which are now forgotten, and most of which are seldom read: one of these sequestered pools of obsolete literature to which modern authors repair, and draw buckets full of classic lore, or pure English, undefiled wherewith to swell their own scanty rills of thought.”
—Washington Irving (17831859)
