Associate Hiring
The bulk of the first-year associate class is recent graduates of the nation's top law schools who were hired as summer associates for the summer between their second and third years of law school. In 2010, Kirkland's office in Chicago made an offer of permanent employment to each of its 32 summer associates. Summer associates (mostly second-year law students) are paid the same base rate as first-year associates, or roughly $3,100/week before taxes. Incoming associates are given a $10,000 stipend.

Famous quotes containing the words associate and/or hiring:
“To associate with other like-minded people in small, purposeful groups is for the great majority of men and women a source of profound psychological satisfaction. Exclusiveness will add to the pleasure of being several, but at one; and secrecy will intensify it almost to ecstasy.”
—Aldous Huxley (18941963)
“When someone borrows an animal from another and it is injured or dies, the owner not being present, full restitution shall be made. If the owner was present, there shall be no restitution; if it was hired, only the hiring fee is due.”
