Kip Mc Kean - New Movement

New Movement

Since 2005, the congregations under Kip McKean's leadership are the International Christian Churches. In 2007, McKean moved to Los Angeles to lead a congregation of this new movement known as the City of Angels International Christian Church. The International Christian Church now has 40 congregations in 20 nations, 1,581 in membership, and weekly attendance is over 2,500. Although the International Church of Christ and the International Christian Church share almost identical doctrines and practices in ministry, the divisive issues revolved around McKean's conviction that only those who share the convictions of the first century church and great commission (Matthew 28:18-20) are true Disciples of Christ. Both churches continue to operate, worship, and evangelize in an incredibly similar way, but their differences in conviction continue to separate them.

Famous quotes containing the word movement:

The preservation of life seems to be rather a slogan than a genuine goal of the anti-abortion forces; what they want is control. Control over behavior: power over women. Women in the anti-choice movement want to share in male power over women, and do so by denying their own womanhood, their own rights and responsibilities.
    Ursula K. Le Guin (b. 1929)

... contemporary black women felt they were asked to choose between a black movement that primarily served the interests of black male patriarchs and a women’s movement which primarily served the interests of racist white women.
    bell hooks (b. c. 1955)
