King's Lynn Academy - Recent History

Recent History

In 2006, Deputy Headteacher Dr. Robert Rogers took over as Headteacher from David Stevens who had to leave due to a long-term illness. During this period of take-over The Park High School was given a notice to improve by Ofsted.

In December 2006 the possibility of the school becoming an Academy was raised. The school became an academy in September 2010, known as King's Lynn Academy, which is sponsored by Norfolk County Council and the College of West Anglia. The Academy has a primary specialism of mathematics, and a secondary specialism of business and enterprise. Ms. Alison Ross resigned from Headteacher status in May 2011. The current headteacher is Mr. Craig Morrison.

Due to being sponsored by the college, King's Lynn Academy's sixth form is split between them.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

We have need of history in its entirety, not to fall back into it, but to see if we can escape from it.
    José Ortega Y Gasset (1883–1955)

Books of natural history aim commonly to be hasty schedules, or inventories of God’s property, by some clerk. They do not in the least teach the divine view of nature, but the popular view, or rather the popular method of studying nature, and make haste to conduct the persevering pupil only into that dilemma where the professors always dwell.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
