Kinetic Chemicals Inc. was a joint venture between DuPont and General Motors. It was founded in 1930 to develop and commercialize chlorofluorocarbon chemicals, such as refrigerants. One of the more famous inventions of Kinetic Chemicals was Teflon. In 1949, the operations came under control of the Organic Chemicals Department.
