The End and The Future
Fan opinion remained deeply divided over the final season of Earth: Final Conflict. At the end of season 4, Liam tried to help the warring Taelons and Jaridians to find absolution, but the ending was left open. For the majority of season 5, Liam, the last of the Kimera, is assumed to be dead, but makes a deus ex machina return for the finale, leaving Earth forever with a band of assorted aliens and humans.

Famous quotes containing the words the end, the and/or future:
“The day the world ends, no one will be there, just as no one was there when it began. This is a scandal. Such a scandal for the human race that it is indeed capable collectively, out of spite, of hastening the end of the world by all means just so it can enjoy the show.”
—Jean Baudrillard (b. 1929)
“I sometimes feel a great ennui, profound emptiness, doubts which sneer in my face in the midst of the most spontaneous satisfactions. Well, I would not exchange all that for anything, because it seems to me, in my conscience, that I am doing my duty, that I am obeying a superior fatality, that I am following the Good and that I am in the Right.”
—Gustave Flaubert (18211880)
“I am always glad to think that my education was, for the most part, informal, and had not the slightest reference to a future business career. It left me free and untrammeled to approach my business problems without the limiting influence of specific training.”
—Alice Foote MacDougall (18671945)
