Killer Kane - 1979 TV Series

1979 TV Series

In the 1979 television series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Kane is reimagined as the supreme commander of the Draconian forces under Princess Ardala's father, Emperor Draco. While the original Killer Kane was the absolute leader, in the TV series, Kane answers to Draco and grudgingly Ardala who acts as Draco's emissary. Ardala Valdemar was one of Kane's subordinates in the original series. In the pilot film, the role was played by Henry Silva while in the follow-up series, he was played by Michael Ansara. The two portrayals are somewhat different. Silva's Kane was much cooler and more calculating and sought to manipulate Ardala. Ansara's Kane was a more honorable, sympathetic man who had a love-hate relationship with Ardala and a grudging respect for Buck Rogers.

Famous quotes containing the word series:

Depression moods lead, almost invariably, to accidents. But, when they occur, our mood changes again, since the accident shows we can draw the world in our wake, and that we still retain some degree of power even when our spirits are low. A series of accidents creates a positively light-hearted state, out of consideration for this strange power.
    Jean Baudrillard (b. 1929)
