Religious Education
In his book Islamic Education he places human agency as the main educational thesis of Islam. This is while before him scholars such as Mutahari believed in human nature as the center of Islamic education. He opposes nature as a central key to Islamic education claiming that human beings are not a piece of non-living object to be fabricated into a human being. Instead human is a dynamic creature who should choose being religious. in this regard he has introduced abstinence by presence. While most scholars have insisted that religion is about preventing sinful situations Bagheri insists that real education leads to presence in a sinful situation and yet remaining intact.
While he agrees with Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas that rububiyah is the proper equivalent for education In the Islamic sense, however he criticizes Al-Attas for his configuration of Islamic concept of education that rububiyah stands only for physical education. since the frequent use of this term in the Quran in various contexts indicates its central position in Prophet's efforts for educating people.

Famous quotes containing the words religious and/or education:
“In the dominant Western religious system, the love of God is essentially the same as the belief in God, in Gods existence, Gods justice, Gods love. The love of God is essentially a thought experience. In the Eastern religions and in mysticism, the love of God is an intense feeling experience of oneness, inseparably linked with the expression of this love in every act of living.”
—Erich Fromm (19001980)
“In this world, which is so plainly the antechamber of another, there are no happy men. The true division of humanity is between those who live in light and those who live in darkness. Our aim must be to diminish the number of the latter and increase the number of the former. That is why we demand education and knowledge.”
—Victor Hugo (18021885)
