Khaled Mashud - in Test Cricket

In Test Cricket

He made an impressive test debut with the bat, scoring 32 and 21* in the hisotorical match against India, in Nov. 2000. But his most memorable moment in Test cricket came in the WI in May 2004. despite taking a first innings lead of 64, Bangladesh ran into trouble, losing their first 7 wickets for just 123 runs. Pilot then led a late order recovery to take the score to 271/9 (Decl.). The declaration came just after Mashud completed his hundred (103*). He was given exclellent support by Rafiq (29) & Tapash (26). Behind the stumps, his 87 victims from 44 matches does not sound very impressive, but he was playing for a side which possessed very little venom in the bowling department.

Famous quotes containing the words test and/or cricket:

To test a modest man’s modesty do not investigate if he ignores applause, find out if he abides criticism.
    Franz Grillparzer (1791–1872)

The thing that struck me forcefully was the feeling of great age about the place. Standing on that old parade ground, which is now a cricket field, I could feel the dead generations crowding me. Here was the oldest settlement of freedmen in the Western world, no doubt. Men who had thrown off the bands of slavery by their own courage and ingenuity. The courage and daring of the Maroons strike like a purple beam across the history of Jamaica.
    Zora Neale Hurston (1891–1960)
