Kevin Van Der Perren - Jumping Ability

Jumping Ability

Van der Perren is the first Belgian skater to land a quadruple jump (toe-loop) in competition, and the first skater ever to have done a quadruple toe loop-triple toe loop-triple toe loop combination in competition. At the 2005 World Figure Skating Championships, he completed a triple flip-triple toe loop-triple loop combination in his free program, although he touched down with his hand on the final jump. Van der Perren landed the combination again at the 2008 Worlds, this time with no touchdown.

Famous quotes containing the words jumping and/or ability:

Everything seems beautiful because you don’t understand. Those flying fish, they’re not leaping for joy, they’re jumping in terror. Bigger fish want to eat them. That luminous water, it takes its gleam from millions of tiny dead bodies, the glitter of putrescence. There’s no beauty here, only death and decay.
    Curtis Siodmak (1902–1988)

Innocence of Life and great Ability were the distinguishing Parts of his Character; the latter, he had often observed, had led to the Destruction of the former, and used frequently to lament that Great and Good had not the same Signification.
    Richard Steele (1672–1729)
