International Career

He represented Netherlands U-20 in U-20 World Cup which was held in his home country in 2005. He was the first choice keeper, the team exited at quarter-finals by penalties (9–10) against Nigeria U-20. Vemeer scored a penalty for the Dutch in this match.

He was a member of the Dutch squad that won the UEFA U-21 Championship in 2006 and 2007. The team also qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Vermeer made his debut for the Netherlands senior team on 14 November 2012 in a 0-0 friendly against Germany in Amsterdam.
