Animal Activism
Wahl, along with his wife Shane Barbi, has frequently been active in his support for animal rights and also is very supportive of United States military veterans.
In 2010, Wahl offered his golden globe award as a reward to catch the person responsible for gluing a kitten to a highway in Minnesota which lead to the kitten's death. Wahl would like to see animal protection laws improved and animal abusers have criminal records.
In 2012 Wall took a stand on several animal rights movements. He stood against the Hayden Law Repeal which would have revoked the Hayden Law for shelter pets in California which gave owners more days to find their lost pets or injured animals to receive donations for much needed medical attention or potential adoption. For the Memorial Day holiday Wahl sent a message saluting the military, along side the group Pets for Patriots, supporting adoption of pets for veterans. Later in the year he took part in the documentary Saving America's Horses about both wild and domestic horses and the issues that plague them. In December of 2012 he reiterated the need to support wounded veterans, and possibly reduce suicide rates, by pairing rescued animals with veterans.
