Keio Flying Squadron (series)

Keio Flying Squadron (series)

Comprising three separate games, the Keio Flying Squadron series of games (known as "Keio Yuugekitai" in Japan) were released for the Sega Mega-CD, Sega Saturn and PlayStation consoles in chronological order respectively. Developed and published by Victor Entertainment, Inc., each game was primarily a different genre - 2D shooter, platformer, and "party" dice game. Players assumed the role of Rami Nana-Hikari, a 14-year-old girl and newly appointed Keeper of the Secret Treasure, a sphere that unlocks a gold reserve set deep in a mountain. The games reference Japanese culture, both ancient and modern simultaneously, and feature frenetic and non-sensical gameplay.

Famous quotes containing the words flying and/or squadron:

Someone is always at my elbow reminding me that I am the grand-daughter of slaves. It fails to register depression with me. Slavery is sixty years in the past. The operation was successful and the patient is doing well, thank you. The terrible struggle that made me an American out of a potential slave said “On the line!” The Reconstruction said “Go!” I am off to a flying start and I must not halt in the stretch to look behind and weep.
    Zora Neale Hurston (1891–1960)

Well gentlemen, this is it. This is what we’ve been waiting for. Tonight your target is Tokyo. And you’re gonna play ‘em the Star Spangled Banner with two-ton bombs. All you’ve got to do is to remember what you’ve learned and follow your squadron leaders. They’ll get you in, and they’ll get you out. Any questions? All right that’s all. Good luck to you. Give ‘em hell.
    Dudley Nichols (1895–1960)
