Relationship To Peter Jennings
Freed is Peter Jennings' widow. She became his fourth wife when they married on December 2, 1997.
She, along with her two stepchildren and sister-in-law, was beside Jennings when he died on August 7, 2005. After his death, she issued the following statement: "Peter died with his family around him, without pain and in peace. He knew he'd lived a good life." She inherited half his $50m estate.
