Legacy
There are several elementary schools named after Kateri Tekakwitha in Ontario, including Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Elementary School in Toronto and Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic School in Orléans. The St. Kateri Tekakwitha School in Schenectady, New York was so named on the canonization of Kateri Tekakwitha by Pope Benedict XVI on October 21, 2012.
A cluster parish was formed in Irondequoit, NY in 2010 taking the name Blessed Kateri Parish; later changing the name to Saint Kateri after her canonization.
