Kate Collins (journalist)

Kate Collins (born 6 April 1983) is a South Australian television presenter, and current presenter of Nine News Adelaide.

Kate was formerly presenter of the Adelaide edition of A Current Affair, a position she held from 2008 to 2009.

Collins studied at Norwood Morialta High School, and later the University of Adelaide, and the University of South Australia. She has also worked as a weekend newsreader at Austereo Radio. Kate began training as a presenter at C31 Adelaide.

She joined NWS 9 in Adelaide in 2006 as a general reporter for Nine News, and in 2007 began acting as fill-in news presenter on weekends.

In 2008, it was announced that Collins would be the presenter of the latest edition of A Current Affair Adelaide. It was initially broadcast in 2002, but was relaunched on 27 October 2008 to combat strong opposition from the Seven Network's Today Tonight, which airs on the same timeslot. ACA Adelaide was axed in November 2009 and Collins returned to reporting for Nine News.

In 2011, she became presenter of Nine News Adelaide with Michael Smyth, replacing Rob Kelvin.
