Katamon (Arabic: قطمون, Hebrew: קטמון) is a neighbourhood in south-central Jerusalem, Israel. The official Hebrew name, Gonen (Hebrew: גּוֹנֵן), is only used in municipal publications. Katamon is derived from the Greek kata tōi monastēriōi ("under the monastery").
