Karavas

Karavas (Greek: Καραβάς) is a town in the Kyrenia District of Cyprus, under the control of Northern Cyprus. It is built on the ruins of Lampousa one of the ten ancient Greek city-kingdoms of Cyprus. The name Karavas is Greek from the word karavi (καράβι) which means ship. As of 2006, the town has a population of 4638.
