Kangaroo Leather

Kangaroo leather is a strong light weight leather derived from the hide of kangaroo.

Kangaroo is farmed. Both the meat and the hides are sold. Although most species of macropod are protected from hunting by law, a small number of the large-sized species which exist in high numbers can be hunted by commercial hunters. This policy has been criticised by some wildlife activists.

Famous quotes containing the word leather:

    What shall he have that killed the deer?
    His leather skin and horns to wear.
    Then sing him home.
    Take thou no scorn to wear the horn,
    It was a crest ere thou wast born;
    Thy father’s father wore it,
    And thy father bore it.
    The horn, the horn, the lusty horn
    Is not a thing to laugh to scorn.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
