The Hamakaze Festival is Kanda University's most well attended annual event. This is scheduled in October every year. Many students open their own food stalls to raise money for their clubs. Entertainment at the festival includes dancing and theatrical performances.

Famous quotes containing the word clubs:

Neighboring farmers and visitors at White Sulphur drove out occasionally to watch ‘those funny Scotchmen’ with amused superiority; when one member imported clubs from Scotland, they were held for three weeks by customs officials who could not believe that any game could be played with ‘such elongated blackjacks or implements of murder.’
—For the State of West Virginia, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

    As night returns bringing doubts
That swarm around the sleeper’s head
But are fended off with clubs and knives ...
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)

The true reformer does not want time, nor money, nor coöperation, nor advice. What is time but the stuff delay is made of? And depend upon it, our virtue will not live on the interest of our money. He expects no income, but outgoes; so soon as we begin to count the cost, the cost begins. And as for advice, the information floating in the atmosphere of society is as evanescent and unserviceable to him as gossamer for clubs of Hercules.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
